Be Active! Walks in the Erie County Parks

Residents encouraged to get healthy

 

The Erie County Health Department is proud to sponsor more "Be Active!" walks along with Wegmans and the Wellness Institute. County Health Commissioner Dr. Anthony Billittier is urging area residents to take advantage of the free guided walks in the County Parks this spring. Free gifts will be given away at each walk.

 

The walks will take place at the following locations:

 

MAY 2 - Chestnut Ridge Park, Meet at Casino

 

MAY 9 - Como Lake Park, Meet at Lancaster Place

 

MAY 16 - Akron Park, Meet at Shelter #5

 

MAY 30 - Emery Park, Meet at the Fieldhouse

 

JUNE 6 - Times Beach, On Fuhrman Blvd

 

JUNE 13 - Isleview Park, Meet at the Gazebo

 

Registration for the walks begins at 9 a.m. on site. Participants will learn more about how to get and stay healthy, and participate in assorted health screenings including bone density, glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI and others.

 

Assorted Senior Services programs, health education materials and smoking cessation services and products will also be available at each walk.
